- Look for a genuine social media investment.
A modern, progressive brokerage agencies are going to understand the value of social media. They’ll be using multiple sites to promote themselves and their homes as well as -hopefully- using social media for partner recruitment as well. Avoid firms which don’t have a strong social presence, that’s a big red flag that they’re using outdated methods or are afraid to change with the times.
- Is their website mobile-friendly?

Check and see if they’re using an adaptive design for their website which allows it to look good on your smartphone. Nothing says a brokerage has to be stiff-necked and boring. Talk to them about their company culture in interviews, or take a tour of the offices, and see what sort of feel you get from the place.

Some older or more outdated brokerages treat their workers more like independent contractors and expect agents to foot the bill for all their own expenses. Look for ones that actually give you some benefits.
